Overview
In this project, I developed an immersive AR experience featuring a pulsating spheres with custom materials and dynamic particle effects. The goal was to explore new workflows in AR development, particularly focusing on AI-generated material maps and advanced shader techniques using Apple's Reality Composer Pro for iOS.
Approach
Custom Material Development:
Utilized shader graphs in Reality Composer Pro to create a unique, dynamic material
Experimented with AI-generated material maps using Polyai and refined them in Photoshop
Focused on creating visually interesting textures that would enhance the pulsating effect
3D Modeling and Animation:
Designed and animated a pulsating sphere in Blender
Optimized the model for AR performance while maintaining visual fidelity
Material Application:
Used Reality Converter to apply the custom material maps to the 3D model
Exported the model as a USDZ file for compatibility with iOS AR platforms
Particle System Integration:
Leveraged Reality Composer Pro's particle system to add atmospheric effects
Carefully balanced particle density and behavior to complement the pulsating sphere without overwhelming the scene
Scene Composition:
Assembled all elements in Reality Composer Pro
Fine-tuned lighting and environmental settings to enhance the immersive quality of the experience
